New Series, “Your Federal Government,” on Cape Ann Television Channel 67

Cape Ann Television is now running a new series called, “Your Federal Government,” exploring many aspects of the various departments within our government. In 1961, President Kennedy called on all Americans to rise to the challenges of the day.  He knew that success depended upon the unity of efforts throughout the Federal Government and the Nation.  In a memorandum he wrote, “I want coordination of government activities outside of Washington significantly strengthened across departments and agency-wide.”  From this, Federal Executive Boards were born.
The Greater Boston Federal Executive Board, one of 28 across the country, fosters communication, coordination and collaboration with Federal, State and Local Government agencies.  The intention of the Federal Government Series is to help the general public to learn about the mission and work done by different agencies, what that means for the United States, and more specifically, what that means to each person as citizens.
“Your Federal Government Series,” is hosted by Diane LaBlanc, Chair, Boston Federal Executive Board. The series covers topics and their Massachusetts connections, such as FEMA, Passports, Small Business Administration (SBA), Weather and Warning Coordination, The National Weather Service, Citizen and Immigration Services, Transportation, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, US Army Corps of Engineers, National Park Service, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and Diplomatic Corps and Diplomatic Safety. See episodes of the series on Channel 67 on Tuesdays at 6 p.m., Wednesdays at 9 a.m., Thursdays at 1 a.m., and Saturdays at 6 p.m.
