The Cape Ann Museum is celebrating Women’s History Month beginning on Saturday, March 10, 2012 with a Family Fun Day – held on the second Saturday of each month – includes free admission for families with children all day, family gallery guides for our exhibitions, and art and history activities in the education room throughout the day.
During the event, docents will be located throughout the galleries from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to talk about women on Cape Ann, from artists and artisans to women in the workplace. Families will be given a scavenger hunt to complete using both the information in the docent talks and their own exploration of the galleries. Art and history activities in the Education Room will include making prints like Virginia Lee Burton Demetrios and the Folly Cove Designers did, painting in the style of Nell Blaine, and creating fabric art as Clara Wainwright does.
