Cape Ann TV Channel 12 replaying Gloucester’s Joe Garland lectures

Cape Ann TV remembers Gloucester’s illustrious Joe Garland, with repeat airings on Channel 12 of two of his lectures from their archives: “Joe Garland on Joe Garland,” and Unknown Soldiers: Reliving WWII in Europe,” a book talk with Joe Garland. These one-hour lectures were recorded at the Cape Ann Museum.

“Joe Garland on Joe Garland”was recorded in January, 2008. In this lecture, he reflects on his life in Gloucester, his days a soldier and his writing career telling his stories with his unique wit. This show will be cablecast on Cape Ann TV Channel 12 on Monday, October 3 at 8:00 p.m.; Tuesday, October 4 at 10:30 a.m.; Thursday, October 6 at 11:00 a.m.; and Friday, October 7 at 9:00 p.m.

“Unknown Soldiers: Reliving WWII in Europe,a book talk with Joe Garland, was recorded in November, 2008, shortly after his book was published. Joe poignantly recalls his experiences in Europe as a young soldier during WWII and the stories of his comrades in arms, of those who survived and those who didn’t and talks about the subsequent pain of the memories from that war that the survivors bear to this day. This show is being cablecast on Cape Ann TV Channel 12 on Monday, October 3 at 7 p.m.; Tuesday, October 4 at 9:30 a.m.; Thursday, October 6 at 10 a.m.; and Friday, October 7 at 10:30 p.m.
