The Writer’s Block celebrates its 22nd season!

This month, Cape Ann TV member and Gloucester resident John Ronan celebrates the 22nd season of “The Writer’s Block,” with John Ronan.” The series, that won a First Place award for an Educational Program Series in 2005, is one of the longest running public access shows in New England. The half-hour show features interviews with writers and artists from varied backgrounds.
The new season kicks off with the winners of this year’s limerick contest conducted earlier in the year through the Cape Ann Beacon and the Gloucester Daily Times. The five winners are : Diane Giardi, Beverly Johnson, Bob Quinn, Beverly Quint and Russ Waldron. The program will be cablecast on September 22 and 29 at 8 p.m.
John Ronan, producer and host of the show, is a poet and playwright and was Poet Laureate of the City of Gloucester from 2008-10. He is also a National Endowment for the Arts Fellow in Creative Writing and Professor Emeritus at North Shore Community College.
“Gloucester has a vibrant artistic community,” says Ronan. “Cape Ann TV is a force in that community life. I’m privileged with the help of director Andrew Love and the crew, to help spread the news on what Cape Ann artists are creating!
